1. About HouseManager

HouseManager is a personal household management service operated at housemanager.uk. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United Kingdom to use HouseManager. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@housemanager.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not share your account with others or use another person's account without their permission.

4. Free tier and paid plans

HouseManager offers a Free tier (1 vehicle, 1 shopping list) and a Plus subscription at £2.99 per month.

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices include UK VAT where applicable.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Billing. Access to Plus features continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
  • Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods, but we will consider requests on a case-by-case basis — contact support@housemanager.uk.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content designed to damage or interfere with the service.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, bulk-extract, or abuse the service.
  • Resell or sublicense the service to third parties.

6. Your data

All data you enter into HouseManager remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your content. You can export all your data at any time via Settings → Account → Export my data, and permanently delete it by deleting your account.

By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely to provide the service to you.

7. Disclaimers

HouseManager is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. In particular:

  • Vehicle data accuracy — MOT, road tax, and DVLA data displayed in the app is sourced from DVLA APIs and is provided for informational purposes only. Always verify compliance status directly with the DVLA. We accept no liability for decisions made based on this data.
  • Financial data — HouseManager is not a regulated financial service. Nothing in the app constitutes financial advice.
  • Availability — We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
  • Data loss — While we take reasonable steps to back up your data, we recommend exporting your data periodically. We are not liable for data loss caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HouseManager shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, with notice where practicable (immediate suspension for serious breaches).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
